On March 6, 2024, Kaden Energy Ltd. (the “Company”) filed a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal (the "NOI") pursuant to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (the “BIA”) and BDO Canada Limited was appointed as the trustee ( the "Proposal Trustee"). A copy of the Certificate of Notice of Intention issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy is provided below:
The Company sought and obtained an Order from the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta (the “Court”) approving the extension of the stay of proceedings (the “Stay”) through to July 4, 2024. Furthermore, as outlined below, the Company is also seeking a further extension of the Stay through to August 18, 2024.This is the last Stay extension permitted pursuant to the BIA. Kaden must file a proposal with the Trustee prior to or on the expiry of the approved Stay.
Claims Process
The Company sought and obtained an Order (the “Claims Process Order”) from the Court approving, among other things, a procedure to adjudicate creditor claims (the “Claims Process”). To date, the majority of claims have been resolved or accepted and the Claims Process as approved is substantially complete.
